Edgefield County needs citizens, property owners, business owners, organizations, and other stakeholders with an interest in the growth and development of Edgefield County and the Land Management Ordinance (LMO) update process to provide input on the current LMO draft and zoning map draft. Please read the following information before proceeding to the LMO and map.
On this page you will find a draft copy of the LMO and an interactive copy of the draft zoning map. These drafts were recommended to the Planning Commission for further review by the LMO Steering Committee; the drafts are not final and are subject to change by the Commission and County Council. The map is interactive, allowing you to select properties and see information on them. A user can submit comments, questions, ideas, or concerns on an individual property on the map. Comments, questions, ideas, and concerns regarding the text can be submitted at the bottom of the page. Input from both the zoning map and LMO will be forwarded to the Consultants, County Planning staff, and Planning Commission. County Council has postponed public hearing of the LMO by the Planning Commission until January 2021. Once Planning Commission review resumes public provided information on the draft LMO and draft zoning map will be provided to the Commissioners.
When reviewing the map, the related text information can be found as follows: The information regarding the zoning map, zoning districts, and permitted uses is located in Chapter 2. The information regarding special development districts and overlays is located in Chapter 3. Information regarding minimum lot size, setbacks, and lot limitations is located in Chapter 6. When using the map, the key will identify the corresponding zoning color to zoning district. You may refer to the draft text in the LMO for specific details on each district.
You may contact the Building & Planning Department at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or needed assistance. The information you provided will be used to assist the Planning Commission in their review of the LMO.
