Collection Summary
Our climate-controlled vault houses over 11,000 historically significant records. Please consult our Collection Summary before your visit.
Presently, there is no “every name” index or database to search. Each type of document, such as deeds or wills, may have its own index and will need to be searched individually for your person or topic of interest.
Research Guides
Our Research Guides outline available collection materials and offer guidance for common research topics. If you are new to research, these guides provide helpful context and tips to get you started.
Research Requests
Can’t make it in person? We can help. Trained archival staff are able to support well-defined research requests for a small fee.
Please submit the Research Request Form to the best of your ability and a staff member will follow up with you shortly. Please allow up to four weeks for processing.
If you have additional questions, you may contact the Archives Department by emailing archive@edgefieldcounty.sc.gov or calling 803-637-4104.
