The Finance Department maintains the financial records of Edgefield County under the rules set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and provides financial reports and information to the County Administrator and County Council as needed. Some of the key functions and responsibilities of the Finance Department are providing payments for invoices to vendors in a timely manner, annual budgeting and payroll as well as receiving revenues from other entities. The Finance Department also works closely with the external auditor to ensure that the finances of the county are being managed properly.
The Government Finance Officers Association awarded Edgefield County the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Accounting for the 2016-2017 comprehensive annual financial report.
